This time I would like to write a story about how me & madihah
made friends with this kawaii (cute) guy…Calvin Tan Jia Yuan…!!

 

It all started one fine day…don’t really remember wen
exactly.. bt we were just sitting in our shop. We kept looking over at F.O.S
cause of the boredom that conquered our lives that time. Then I saw this guy.. who
works there.. He had like this magnet in his body that somehow pulls my
attention towards him. Then I realized that he reminds me of this artist from
my Japanese fav band, Arashi, named Kazunari Ninomiya.

 

He is cute…the way he laughs, walks, talks.. So day after
day, I kept looking at him, trying to see if he does anything funny. Until I couldn’t
just have all these running in myself, I told Madihah. I showed her which one
is this oh-so-interesting guy. Then we both started looking at him everyday, observing
everything he does. Even wen he wanted to go to the toilet, we would still see
if there’s anything funny about him.

 

I told Madihah, ‘we have to get to noe him, man’..She said
smthg like ‘yeah, but how?’

‘Dunno.. we just have to think of some way,’ I replied. Then
days went by, still nthg. Until one day I found out that he was going to quit
his work in a few days.. We had this ‘OH MY GOD’ expression on our faces.. and ‘OH
MY GOD’ feelings in our hearts.. and ‘OH MY GOD’ actually came out of our
mouths. At first I thought ‘Nah, cant be.’ Actually I was somehow HOPING that it
was just a rumor or a joke. Wen we asked this girl who works near F.O.S abt his
age, she said ‘Same la like u guys. Baru hbs SPM’..
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! ‘Watta hell man??!!’ ‘No way’!! Then that girl
went back for work. After a while, she came back and said ‘He’s quitting soon’.
We were like ‘shit!!’ ‘oh my God!!’ All our feelings got mixed. I thought abt
it and said to myself ‘its NOW or NEVER’. Finally we set a plan : Madihah was to go and see some necklaces
that were displayed near the entrance to
F.O.S. She had to somehow ask for his name. Funny eyh? Oh well.. The guy
was on duty to stand at the entrance and greet customers like ‘Welcome’ and ‘Thank
You’. Then I saw her holding one necklace at each hand at asking the guy smthg.
I was like ‘Ika (her nickname), wat a hell r u doing??’ Then she was smiling
and heading towards the cashier.. When she was on her way out, the guy went
around F.O.S. doing smthg. Ika came back and told me she didn’t get his name..I
was damn shocked. She said she asked him abt the necklaces, which one was
better.. She said he answered ‘blue better’ after a few giggles. So she bought it
just so that it wont be that obvious. But still, the ‘mission was incomplete’..!!
Later that evening before my shift was completely done, Kamil, Ad and Kerina came
to our shop. Then my daddy Khalis came too. Then I told them about our plan. I
begged for their help.. So then I went to F.O.S with Kerina. Again with the
necklaces. I pretended to look for a necklace. Talking damn slowly to Kerina.. saying
things like ‘I don’t think I can do it’ ‘I’m damn nervous’ ‘ Y don’t u do it?’
Then she was like ‘U yg nk knal, u la ask’.. Then Kamil came in along with
Khalis. I asked for their help for I was sooo nervous.. Finally Kerina made the
move. She called him and ask which one was better between the necklace she
chose and the one I did. He smiled widely…then for a few seconds he pointed at
the one I picked. I smiled la…duh!! Then Kerina asked ‘Wats

ur

name?’ I was afraid that he wont tell.. then with another smile he said ‘Jia
Yuan’..

miSSion

accomplished!! So I
went to the cashier with Kamil and paid the ‘chosen necklace’. While we were
making our way out, he said ‘thank you’.. I replied with a smile then ‘Thank
You.. actually me and my friend think you’re cute’.. he just smiled again.. On
my way to my shop, I realized wat I just said..!!

 

A few days later.. we got his number.. thanx to Ad, Kamil
and Kerina again!! I didn’t think he would actually give us, but he actually
did!! And on that day itself (I remember it was Tuesday), we found out that the
day after that (Wed) was going to be his last day.

 

Wednesdays are the days that I wont be working.. to make it
short, off day. But for THAT Wednesday, I came to the shop around

9pm

..cause we planned to take a picture with
him. Wen I got to the shop, Ika went to talk to him about the whole
taking-a-photo thing. And surprisingly he agreed..!! We were damn happyyy!!

 

So we closed the shop around

10pm

..then
walked around to wait til F.O.S. closes,which was around 1030pm.. Then we mwt
him..and walked all the way to the old wings, where the photos were taken.
After that..i didn’t quite noe (until now) how I got the courage to ask him for
a hug for both me and Ika..but I did.. then when he left, we looked at each
other and RAN up the escalators and made our way back to the new wings, to meet
my brother. I told Ika to let me give her a ride home. Along the way, we were
laughing, screaming happily.

That night itself, we got his other number and his emails
for friendster, msn and myspace.

So, since then, we became closer and closer everyday. Interesting
huh?Im very happy with the bond of friendship we created…thanx Cal!!

 Well, I guess I hv to stop now..my eyes r damn heavy.. but I
shall update more on this guy.. Calvin Tan Jia Yuan later yeah?!
